This project will widen approximately 3,200 linear feet (0.55 miles) of roadway along Nansemond Parkway from the Commonwealth Railroad to Helen Street. This includes the installation of turn lanes at the intersection of Nansemond Parkway and Shoulders Hill Road. The improvements will help to meet increased traffic demand from development along the Shoulders Hill Road and Nansemond Parkway corridors.
The contractor continues to excavate stormwater pond three located on the eastern side of Shoulders Hill Road. This work is expected to last approximately three weeks.
Utility night work is planned for the last week of February. Upon completion of pond three the contractor plans to resume work on the east bound lane of Nansemond Parkway west of the intersection.
